Takeshi Suzu
Suzu was born in 1975 in Hokkaido, Japan. At just 10 months old, he moved with his family to São Paulo, Brazil, and returned to Japan at the age of 19 to settle permanently. A lifelong lover of art, Suzu developed a unique visual language by blending diverse cultural influences, including Brazilian and American comics and Japanese anime. Now based in Hokkaido, he focuses on absurdist and surrealist art, drawing deep inspiration from René Magritte, Paul Klee, and Wassily Kandinsky, as well as contemporary artists like Keiichi Tanaami, Takaaki Tateishi, Mizumaru Anzai, and Unpis.

A self-taught artist, Suzu studied graphic design and illustration in Japan. His works are known for their minimalist and sincere aesthetic, often beginning with whimsical sketches drawn in the library. Deeply connected to nature, he finds inspiration while running through the forests of Hokkaido. A horror film enthusiast, he transforms eerie atmospheres into humorous and charming illustrations. Calling himself “the most unknown illustrator in the world,” Suzu continues to create with boundless passion, building a surreal, humorous, and absurd visual universe.

His collaborators include: THE NORTH FACE, The Happy Few Agency, Tahini Neri, Neri Foods, General Promotion MEA, and the city government of Tomakomai, Japan.
